The Client Brief
Following the redevelopment of the main house at The Gables, the client undertook a complete redesign of the surrounding gardens to create a series of outdoor spaces for relaxing, entertaining and evening use.
The brief was to extend the smart home technology from the house into the garden, ensuring the outdoor spaces could be enjoyed both day and night while maintaining the same level of convenience, control and security.
Lighting, music, connectivity and security all needed to work seamlessly across the property without visible technology disrupting the landscape design.
Integrated Outdoor Technology
Connected Home Systems designed and installed a fully integrated outdoor technology system that transforms the garden into a usable extension of the home.
A 16-channel intelligent lighting system highlights key landscaping features, pathways and architectural elements throughout the garden. Lighting scenes can be adjusted to create different atmospheres for entertaining, relaxing or evening ambience.
Four independent audio zones allow music to be enjoyed across different areas of the garden, including seating areas and entertaining spaces, while remaining discreetly integrated into the landscape.
To ensure the garden remained fully connected, blanket Wi-Fi coverage was installed across the entire outdoor space, supporting music streaming, device connectivity and smart home control.
Security was also extended beyond the house through the installation of CCTV and perimeter protection, providing complete coverage of the property.
